Whale watching
The main season for humpback whale watching on the Mexican Pacific coast, including the area near Barra de Navidad, is from December to March, with January and February being the peak months for seeing them in their natural habitat.

January and February: Considered the best months, with a large concentration of whales.

Release of sea turtles
Turtle releases in Barra de Navidad take place at local turtle camps, such as Camp Bahía de Navidad (Melaque/Barra de Navidad) and Camp Playa El Coco, run by the University of Guadalajara (UDG) and other organizations, where you can participate in releases at sunset during the season from August to December.
